MTN Smart Kids Hub – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Smart Kids Hub service, websites, apps,

and any related content or features (collectively, the

“MTN Smart Kids Hub”). By accessing or using the

Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Duration & Participation

1.1 The MTN Smart Kids Hub service is an online learning platform for children that delivers structured,

age-appropriate educational content — including short video lessons, quizzes, audiobooks, podcasts and

infographics — accessible via the internet and mobile networks, brought to you by MTN in partnership

with Nina Jojer (henceforth called the “ORGANIZER”).

1.2 The portal provides users with a structured, guided learning journey through age-appropriate courses

and lessons. This is an ongoing service running in 365-day cycles (SERVICE PERIOD), starting from the

launch date.

2. Eligibility

2.1 The SERVICE may only be subscribed to by residents of Nigeria who are prepaid subscribers of MTN

and are 18 (eighteen) years of age or older. Employees, representatives, and agents of the Organizer or

associated vendors are not eligible. The PARTICIPANT is considered to be the SIM card owner or a user

authorized by the owner.

2.2 The learning content made available through the SERVICE is designed for children aged 5 to 12, split

across two age bands (5–7 and 8–12). The SERVICE is not intended to be subscribed to or managed by a

child; the PARTICIPANT subscribing to and paying for the SERVICE must be the adult account holder,

who creates a child profile and selects the child’s age and learning focus areas within the portal.

3. Means of Participation

3.1 MTN subscribers can join the SERVICE by sending the keyword “KIDS” for opt-in, and “STOP

KIDS” for opt-out, to 38426, at N150/day (incl. V AT) after the first day free. [Note: the exact

opt-in/opt-out keyword is marked as to-be-confirmed in the source service description; please verify

before publishing.]

3.2 At the discretion of the Organizer, fallback micro-billing pricing will be applied for users whose

full-day charging fails due to insufficient airtime, with access granted proportionate to the price point

paid: N20/day (4 hours access), N30/day (8 hours access), N50/day (10 hours access), N100/day (20

hours access), and N150/day (24 hours access).

3.3 In addition to the daily plan, PARTICIPANTS may subscribe to a Weekly plan at N500/week or a

Monthly plan at N1,000/month. No free trial period applies to the Monthly plan.

3.4 Access to the Smart Kids Hub portal requires an active MTN data subscription. Data charges apply

separately from the SERVICE subscription fee.3.5 Following a successful subscription request (whether by SMS or via the Web Recruitment flow), the

PARTICIPANT will receive a unique tokenized URL granting automatic sign-in to the portal, together

with login credentials for manual access where required.

3.6 Participation in this SERVICE is subject to these rules, interpreted at the discretion of the Organizer.

The Organizer reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. All promotional

content or advertising material shall form part of these Terms and Conditions.

4. Subscription & Cancellation

4.1 Every subscription successfully processed is charged at the applicable daily, weekly, or monthly rate

(inclusive of V AT), following any applicable free period. If a PARTICIPANT does not have sufficient

credit at the time of a charge attempt, MTN will automatically re-attempt the charge, and the

PARTICIPANT will not receive content or benefits for that day until successfully charged.

4.2 To unsubscribe, send “STOP KIDS” to 38426, or use the cancellation option available within the

Smart Kids Hub portal, which displays static instructions on how to cancel.

4.3 PARTICIPANTS who have already been successfully charged for the current service renewal period

will retain access to content until that period expires, even if they cancel their subscription during the

renewal period.

4.4 Where a PARTICIPANT fails to be successfully charged for 30 (thirty) consecutive days, the

subscription will be automatically cancelled.

4.5 The Organizer, including via the Upstream/Operator CRM interface, may cancel a subscription upon a

clear expression of non-interest by a PARTICIPANT.

5. Portal Access & Learning Content

5.1 Portal access is available to: (i) ACTIVE subscribers successfully charged within the current service

renewal period; and (ii) cancelled subscribers who were successfully charged within the current renewal

period, for the remainder of that period. Subscribers who are ACTIVE but have not been successfully

charged within the renewal period, and subscribers who have cancelled (without a successful charge) or

never subscribed, are not eligible to access portal content.

5.2 The SERVICE offers a curriculum covering Reading & Phonics, STEM (Science, Technology,

Engineering and Mathematics), Life Skills, Math Basics, Money Skills, and Internet Safety & Digital

Skills, delivered through short self-paced lessons appropriate to the child’s age band, alongside

audiobooks, podcasts, and infographics for revision. The portal includes rewards, badges, certificates, and

an AI learning assistant to support the child’s progress.

5.3 Courses, lessons, and features may be added, removed, or updated by the Organizer at any time

without prior notice.

6. Parental Consent & Children’s Use6.1 By subscribing to the SERVICE, the PARTICIPANT confirms that they are the parent, legal guardian,

or otherwise have the authority to permit the relevant child to use the SERVICE, and that they consent to

the child’s use of the learning content under their supervision.

6.2 The Organizer recommends that a parent or guardian supervises a child’s use of the SERVICE at all

times, including when setting up the child’s profile and learning focus areas. The Organizer is not

responsible for a child’s use of the SERVICE outside of such supervision.

6.3 Any personal information relating to a child, including profile details and learning progress, will be

used solely to deliver and personalize the learning experience, in accordance with Section 11 (Personal

Data Protection) below, and will not be used to advertise or market directly to the child.

7. Additional Capabilities

7.1 For information about the SERVICE, PARTICIPANTS may send “HELP” or “INFO” to 38426 to

receive instructions on the SERVICE and details of other available commands.

7.2 To retrieve portal login credentials, PARTICIPANTS may send “PASSWORD” to 38426.

8. Abuse and Disqualification

8.1 Participants may not use machines, scripts, or other automated means to interact with the SERVICE,

whether via SMS or the portal. Any suspected breach of this rule gives the Organizer the right to suspend

or disqualify the PARTICIPANT.

9. Organizer’s Responsibilities

9.1 The Organizer is not responsible for delays or failures in SMS delivery, portal access, or billing due to

technical issues outside its reasonable control. SMS logs held in the Organizer’s system serve as proof of

sent/received messages.

10. Blacklisted Users

10.1 Upstream will check the MTN blacklist prior to processing any online subscription request.

Blacklisted users are not permitted to participate in the SERVICE: where a blacklisted user attempts to

subscribe, they will receive no reply from the application, and while they may be able to view the Web

Recruitment pages, they will not be able to subscribe to the SERVICE, nor will they be contacted for

advertising or recruitment purposes.

11. Personal Data Protection

11.1 All personal data collected will be treated confidentially in accordance with Nigerian data protection

laws. It will not be shared unless legally required or explicitly authorized by the PARTICIPANT.

11.2 The Organizer applies heightened care to information relating to children and will only use such

information for the purpose of delivering and personalizing the learning content within the SERVICE.

12. Governing Law & Amendments12.1 This SERVICE is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. These Terms &

Conditions remain in effect during the SERVICE PERIOD unless amended or suspended by the

Organizer.
